MENTAL HEALTH WEEK UPDATE

The Woodlands School have been proudly focusing on mental health and wellbeing, exploring why looking after our minds is just as important as looking after our bodies.

As part of Children’s Mental Health Week, our learners took part in a range of thoughtful, creative and engaging activities designed to help them understand their feelings, recognise their strengths and discover practical ways to support their own wellbeing. It was a fantastic opportunity to pause, reflect and celebrate the small things that help us feel happy, calm and connected.

Throughout the week, we explored the Five Ways to Wellbeing:

Connect. Building positive relationships with friends, family and staff.

Be Active. Moving our bodies to boost our mood!

Take Notice. Being mindful and appreciating the world around us.

Keep Learning. Trying something new (even if it feels a little tricky at first!)

Give. Showing kindness to others

One of the highlights of the week was our wonderful circus skills workshop, where pupils embraced the idea of “Keep Learning.” From plate spinning to juggling and balancing activities, there were smiles, determination and perhaps the occasional runaway scarf! Learning new skills not only builds confidence, but also reminds us that it’s OK not to get things perfect the first time... sometimes the wobble is part of the fun.

We are incredibly proud of how our young learners engaged with the week. They showed curiosity, resilience and plenty of laughter along the way.

More updates from our Children’s Mental Health Week will be shared soon.
